The Week In Thermaglaze

Cold-Crashin' for Gawker. Merchant of Venice, Serena Bass, and Girlie Action + bonus pic of Village Voice Fly Life's T-Ro and me: Big-Mouths

KDunk stalks No Data to chilling effect. "You smell really good"

Daddy vs. Santa and the Ice Dragon. A former co-worker writes his first online review and delivers this open-handed slap, "If you enjoy performances jam-packed with tumbles, pratfalls, sashays, dance hands, mugging to the audience, rollerskating antics, ethnic stereotypes and the unnecessary death of a child, this show's for you." Dude, what's the problem?

The Moon & Antarctica. Jamie of the eclectic AsianMack released their first freely downloadable compilation on Monday too and after seeing the "Lest We Forget" project here he wrote in to ask, "How are you planning on dealing with the bandwidth?" A good question I had not thought of so I didn't have a proper answer then, but I do now...

Hell Froze Over. Due to the traffic resulting from this BoingBoing post on Monday, over 70GB of files were downloaded from theotherpage.com in two days while krucoff.com did a paltry 1.5GB in the same time period. I feared the worst with theotherpage.com's account since my monthly traffic quota for each domain is 20GB. I had visions of having to pay hundreds of dollars in extra fees for posting two huge MP3 files of an old punk rock cassette compilation.

Fortunately my hosting provider, Doteasy, does not charge anything for exceeding the limit which I only found out after initially panicking and contacting them first to beg for mercy. Calmly I was told that they only ask customers who consistently exceed traffic quotas to upgrade to an unlimited hosting plan which is just $2/month more than what I pay now. For this, I give them a 5-star customer service salute and the highest recommendation. Sign up with them now, become an MP3 mogul today!

The Kinks - "Father Christmas" (3.39 MB)

Note: Yes, everyone else has put it on their cool Christmas mix list but my 42 year old cousin Neil, an actual rocket scientist for NASA, is one of the founding members of The Kinks Preservation Society so that must count for something.
